Brian Frederick draws on 30 years’ experience in community philanthropy in the USA when he shares insights and stories about fostering a culture of giving and delivering on community goals and aspirations.
Brian will talk about his work with donors, businesses and communities in rural and regional USA who have supported community change through philanthropy. His presentation will touch on transfer of wealth, the role of business owners and local industry, and will aim to inspire and motivate with everyday stories of local people supporting community goals and addressing community challenges.
One of the most experienced and successful leaders practicing in community philanthropy in the USA today, Brian served as President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Lorain County (OH) for nineteen years until 2017. He is currently on the Board of the Kansas Association of Community Foundations and has previously held appointments as Chair of the Fund for Our Economic Future; Chair of the Midwest Community Foundation Ventures; and was a Founding Board member and Governance Chair of the National Standards Board for U.S. Community Foundations.
